Sidney Sweet began in the food industry in 1972 building a successful natural foods distribution business from the ground up, originally for a non-profit organization. The business transitioned into an import business, focusing on nuts and dried fruits. Soon raisins emerged as the primary product as the need for multiple sources and different varieties became more important to our customers. Opportunities developed in many overseas countries as well as California, and little by little Sweet Dried Fruit became the most diverse raisin supplier in the world. Though we carry other dried fruit, raisins are our specialty and we have become the largest importer of raisins into the USA. Since our roots are in health, nutrition, and ecology, organic raisins have become an important part of our supply chain. We continue our commitment to quality and customer service, and hope one day our story will become part of your story.
Sidney Sweet : Chief Executive Officer
Sidney Sweet is the founder of Sweet Dried Fruit and continues to guide the company. He is inspired by the privilege of partnering with his son, son-in-law, wife, and daughter, as well as a team of great employees. He enjoys building and maintaining relationships with both international and domestic suppliers and customers. Though gray hairs have come, he maintains an active involvement and an energetic spirit. Sidney attributes the success of the company to integrity, fairness, hard work, and the Providence of connecting to great suppliers and customers.
James Sweet : President
James Sweet has grown up in the raisin business, beginning with printing invoices at the age of nine. Since graduation in 2007 from Penn State University with a degree in Supply Chain Management, he has been working full time focusing on growing the company, developing new products, new sources, and new customers.
Scott Fichter : Chief Financial Officer
Scott Fichter joined Sweet Dried Fruit in 2005, and in addition to financial duties he manages the global logistics of importing and exporting raisins around the world. A graduate of the International School of Kuala Lumpur, he studied Aerospace Engineering at Arizona State and International Business at St. Edwardâ€™s University.
